Ok, I’m just going to leave it like this.
READ THIS BOOK
Well, I mean, unless you have issues with carnage and blood and a healthy dose of crazy.
Down to the nitty gritty, my favorite thing, (and it was hard to pick just ONE favorite thing) is that these two wonderful ladies have managed to capture the absolutely beautifully chaotic mindset of the mentally unsound. The sheer brilliance they’ve employed here with Brooklyn, Mateo, and Niall is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Magnificent energy that just won’t quit, gut-busting hilarity that makes absolutely no sense in the best sort of way, and the most unusual circumstances make for an unforgettable story. Brooklyn and Niall are like the kind of folks that you’d imagine you could be besties with, just chilling and hanging out, going with the flow, except when they’re seeing red and have a taste for blood, anyway. Then, maybe stay out of their way.
Besides the story itself, let’s talk steam. Of course, one would imagine that we couldn’t exactly relate to sociopaths like this, but these characters are incredibly relatable in an odd sort of way, and that makes the slow burn here scorching hot. Niall is a sexy, Irish gangster with killer abs, (see what I did there?) and Mateo is the mysterious, brooding fixer from a rival cartel that just happens to be exactly what Brooklyn has been looking for. Sort of.
I only have one complaint, and I want to strangle these ladies because of it.

Now I’m not going to know what my favorite psychos are up to for months! C’mon girls! Help a sister out!

Long story short, you need to read this. You won’t regret it.
I give this book a full five out of five stars, but I’d give it ten if I could. I will be reading the next in the series as soon as it comes out, and in the interim, I’ll be binging their other books like a nut job fangirl.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐-5 stars. Must-read for those with a twisted and dark sense of humor who want slow burn steam with a little side of crazy.
